Ich bleib dann mal zuhause – Book Cover (Conceptual Project)

What if life were a game of chess? This reflection was the starting point for the creation of this conceptual cover for “Ich bleib dann mal zuhause,” by Helge König.

The goal was to translate the essence of the book into a strong visual language: the pursuit of freedom and autonomy through strategic choices. The stylized chessboard in the background symbolizes the calculated moves made throughout one’s journey, while the silhouettes represent the true protagonist of this story — the individual who decides to take control of their own path.

The red, black, and white color palette brings intensity, contrast, and a contemporary feel, while the clean, structured typography ensures clarity and elegance. Every detail was carefully designed to connect with the book’s message, creating an aesthetic that is both minimalist and deeply meaningful.

The result is a cover that is sophisticated, bold, and conceptual, visually embodying the book’s core spirit: strategy, movement, and transformation.
